The People’s Government
Even as the soul of democracy is under siege, the resilience of America and Americans remains indefatigable. There is an alternative to the chaos. It’s called democracy. Democracy that has proven its resilience over time – against communism, socialism, monarchy, tyranny and authoritarianism. No form of government has been as successful as American democracy.
Only the people can deter this march toward autocracy. And, while the voices of protest and resistance are critical to driving hope and conviction, resistance itself is not enough. The people need a feasible, practical path forward.
The Way Forward
That is Rise Up!’s mission. To marshal the energy and passion of the citizenry into a movement to revitalize our democracy and restore the people's voice. Ours is a vision that reinvigorates our progressive democratic government and rekindles the principles conceived by our founders -- government rooted in fairness, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We must empower individuals, advocate for our rights, and foster unity in the vast diversity that is our nation. ​
We Rise Together
Rise Up! is a convenor, organizer and driver of an inclusive movement focused on the future. We are citizens of all stripes, everyday people, workers and managers, scientists and nurses, laborers and academics, teachers and thinkers, tinkerers and artists. We drive representative government.
Government works for us.
Where We Will Go
We will counter the false, power-mongering rhetoric and destruction by working with various partners –non-government organizations, scientists, think tanks, policymakers, community organizations, concerned citizens – to advance concrete programs that benefit ALL citizens. All are welcome.
